Baseball Splits Opening Day

The Temple College baseball team opened up their 2017 season today at Galveston College by splitting a doubleheader. Temple College defeated Galveston College in the opener 10-8. Sophomore Denson Hull recorded the win for the Leopards going 4.2 innings and freshman Ryan Keesee got the save. Sophomores Coby Potvin, Chase Cryer, Baylor Rowlett, and Jacob Stegent all had a couple base hits apiece; Potvin, Rowlett, and Preston Macik all recorded a double, and Cryer and Stegent each with a triple. Temple College dropped the second game of the doubleheader 7-3. Freshman pitcher Kyle Bradford took the loss for the Leopards. Potvin and Stegent each pounded out a couple hits again, Potvin with one of those hits being a double. The Leopards are 1-1 and will play a doubleheader at Alvin Community College starting at noon tomorrow.
