Temple College baseball swept a doubleheader against Vernon College at Concordia University today. The Leopards won the first game 11-1 in six innings behind the complete game 6 hitter from Jesse Reed. Max Puls provided the offense for Temple going 3 for 3 with a single, double and homerun racking up 4 RBI.
In game 2, Temple came back from an early 9-1 deficit with a 7 run fifth inning to get within one of the Chaps and then scored two in the 7th to take the lead 10-9, which proved to be the final score. Taylor Vaclavick picked up the win with 5 scoreless innings of relief and Diego Fernandez picked up his second save of the year with 1 2/3 shutout innings. Max Puls again led Temple's hitting attack with three hits. Breck Potvin, Devin Tucker and Robert Shaw each added two hits apiece as well.The Leopards are now 10 - 12 in conference play and 16 - 23 on the season.
