Leopards Will Face South Plains at Region V Basketball Tournament

The Temple College men's basketball team will face #9 South Plains tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Region V Basketball Championship at Moody Coliseum on the campus of Abilene Christian University. Temple enters as the 3 seed from Region V North, has a record of 24-6, and has averaged 108.0 points per game this season. South Plains enters as the 2 seed from Region V West, is ranked 9th nationally, has a record of 23-5, and has averaged 84.1 points per game. Temple will need to stop South Plains stand out, Gaige Prim, who is the Region V West leader in points per game with 20.3, rebounds per game with 11.4, and field goal percentage shooting 64.2% from the field.

The men's tournament opens with #7 Odessa College (1 seed from Region V West) against McLennan Community College (4 seed from Region V North) at 1:00 p.m. Other games today are Collin County Community College (2 seed from Region V North) against New Mexico (3 seed from Region V West) at 3:00 p.m. and #4 Ranger College (1 seed from Region V North) versus Clarendon College (4 seed from Region V West) at 5:00 p.m.
