The Temple College Leopards entered the bottom of the sixth tied at 2 before exploding offensively for 8 runs and a walk off win. The Leopards pounded out 16 hits with one of those hits being a bases loaded triple off the bat of sophomore Kaitlyn Jones for the walk off 10-2 win. Jones finished the game with three hits, a double and a triple, and four RBI. Mikaela Sako earned her second win of the season throwing all six innings for her first complete game.
The Leopards won in walk-off fashion again in game two, but with a RBI infield groundball to score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore pitcher Karina Sanchez earned the win and pinch hit to start the seventh inning surge. Sanchez led off the inning with a double before being lifted to have Sako run bases. Sako advanced on a passed ball then freshman Kennedy Jimenez hit a groundball that Sako got a good jump on and beat out the throw home. Sanchez threw a complete game and earned her first win of the year.
The Leopards are now 3-1 and will be back in action Saturday February 3 in Mt. Pleasant against Northeast Texas Community College.
