The Leopards defeated Lake Land College 3-1 in their first game Saturday morning. Freshman Ava McCoy went 2 for 2 with a walk to lead the Leopards. Freshman MacKenzie Purcell went 0 for 0 with three walks. Breanna Hernandez went the distance and got the win throwing all seven innings for the Leopards. Hernandez allowed five hits and struck out five.

In game two the Leopards came from behind to defeat University of Houston Victoria 6-5 to close out the Galveston Tournament. Daisy Gonzalez, Maddie Weatherly, and Tiler Noyola all went 2 for 3 each with a walk and a run scored. Gonzalez and Weatherly each also walked. Taylor Gruell threw all seven innings or the Leopards and struck out seven. The Leopards gave up four runs in the second before answering back with four runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth. UHV scored one in the top of the sixth and the Leopards came from behind in the bottom of the seventh and scored two runs for the walk off win. Lenzi Stewart led the bottom of the seventh off with a walk. Savanna Parker reached base on an UHV error. Gonzalez and Weatherly each had RBI singles, Gonzalez tying the game and Weatherly hitting the walk off.

The Leopards are now 3-2 and will be back in action Friday at Howard College and Saturday at Odessa College.
