Leopard Softball Defeats Kilgore 12-0 and 8-0

Game 1:

The Leopards scored seven runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat the Kilgore College Rangers 12-0 on Friday.  Alyssa Budisalovich singled, scoring one run, Maveryck Lightfoot doubled, scoring one run, Kennan Nunamaker singled, scoring two runs, and Lily Garcia homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Temple College scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Allie Cruz drew a walk, scoring one run, Adelyn Becerra singled, scoring one run, Emily Delgado doubled, scoring two runs, and Nunamaker doubled, scoring one run.

Haley Crawford stepped in the circle first for Temple College. They gave up five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Kaylee Schmitz started the game for Kilgore College Rangers. The right-handed pitcher gave up seven hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one and walking three.

The Leopards amassed 11 hits in the game. Nunamaker led Temple College with three hits in three at bats. Garcia and Nunamaker were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Temple. Delgado and Lightfoot each collected multiple hits for The Leopards. Becerra paced Temple College with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Temple College didn't commit a single error in the field. Delgado had the most chances in the field with four.

 

Game 2:

Temple College won big over Kilgore College Rangers 8-0 on Friday.  The Leopards were the first to get on the board in the first when Emily Delgado doubled, scoring four runs.  Temple College added one run in the second. Bre Jackson grounded out, making the score 5-0.  A tag up by Kennan Nunamaker extended the Leopard lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Temple College added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hits. Nunamaker hit a solo home run to left field, and Alyssa Budisalovich doubled, scoring one run.

Delgado pitched four innings in relief for Temple College. The reliever gave up three hits and zero runs while, striking out three and walking one. Hannah Calhoun stepped in the circle first for Temple College. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking two. Kaydey Rawlinson began the game for Kilgore College. The righty surrendered four hits and five runs (three earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two.

Adelyn Becerra led Temple College with three hits in three at bats. Delgado provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Temple College with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Budisalovich and Nunamaker each collected multiple hits for Temple. The Leopards turned two double plays in the game.
