Maurice Zaleski
Maurice Zaleski
Title: Assistant Coach

Maurice Zaleski is entering his thirteenth season as an assistant softball coach at Temple College. Since his tenure began, the Temple College softball team has compiled a record of 524-200, has won six Conference Championships, and has made four National Tournament appearances, including earning the title of 2018 NJCAA D1 National Champions. Last season Zaleski was a member of the coaching staff the received honors as the 2018 NFCA NJCAA Division 1 National Coaching Staff of the Year. In 2007, the Leopards finished the season with a team batting average of .381, which placed them among the top ten in the nation. His main responsibilities include field maintenance, statistics, recruiting, insight on game strategy, and fundraising.

For over 30 years Coach Zaleski has been a familiar face at the ballpark while coaching Texas Teenage and ASA Softball. He had the honor of coaching with the highly successful Centex Babes alongside the legendary Jim VonGonten and former TC Assistant Coach Jim Eanes.

A 1961 graduate of Temple Junior College, Coach Zaleski was a member of the Leopard basketball team. The 1960-1961 Leopard basketball team went 21-9 on the season and was a State Finalist for the first time in Temple College men’s basketball history.

Coach Zaleski and his wife Karen have three children, two grandchildren, and have lived in Temple all of their married lives. His oldest daughter, Kelli, played basketball at Temple Junior College from 1986-1988 and currently resides in Rowlett, TX. His son, Brent, currently works for Zaleski Tax Service and lives in Temple. His other daughter, Kristen, is currently his coaching sidekick.
