Baseball Splits at Alvin

Baseball Splits at Alvin

The Temple College baseball team split a doubleheader on the road today at Alvin Community College. Starting pitcher, freshman Cody Wolf, shut out the Alvin offense for five innings. Sophomore reliever Taylor Barksdale took the loss after throwing 1 1/3 innings when Alvin was finally able to manufacture a run for the win. Sophomore catcher Baylor Rowlett was the only Leopard with a hit in the first game. Temple's offense did much better in the 9-2 win the second game. Rowlett went 3-for-4 with a double, two homeruns, and six RBI. Three other Leopards had multiple base hits in game two; Jacob Stegent went 3-for-4 with a double, Michael Davila went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Reed Carlton had a couple hits. Sophomore Mason Furlong got the win on the mound for Temple. The Leopards are now 2-2 on the season and will be back in action Friday at 4:00 p.m. against Blinn College and at 7:00 p.m. against Frank Phillips College in Brenham.
