TEMPLE, TX – The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where the Leopards came out on top against #6 ranked San Jacinto College Ravens.
The Ravens got things started in the first inning when Luke Nail doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Temple College took the lead for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Simon Larranaga singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Lance Cantrell drew a walk, scoring one run, Bryan Williams's sac fly scored one run for the Leopards, and Raithen Malone singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. San Jac scored three runs in the second inning. Cole Marthiljohni was the winning pitcher for Temple College as he allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three. Tyler Cooper, Colin Huspen, and Dash Albus all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Cooper recorded the last six outs to earn the save. Luis Martinez-Gomez started the game for Temple College lasting two innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three The Temple offense totaled 13 hits. Dawson French, Hogan Heller, Cantrell, Cash Russell, and Larranaga each had multiple hits in today's contest.
