The Temple College Leopards will host the Alvin Community College Dolphins in a non-conference tilt at the Danny Scott Sports Complex Monday afternoon at 2 pm.
The Leopards and Dolphins met on Feb. 8 in Alvin. The Dolphins swept the doubleheader by scores of 5-3 and 2-1.
In the opener, Alvin erased a 2-1 deficit and scored in each of the last four innings to win the first game.
Patrick Collopy pitched five innings of two-run, two-hit baseball, having struck out five and walked three. Brayden Simmons went 3-of-4 with a homer, two doubles, and two RBI, Kolvin Davis added a homer, and Lance Cantrell was 2-of-3.
In the second game, Alvin scored twice in the first inning and held the Leopards to one fifth inning run.
Kash Millar hit a homer and drove in a run, and Cantrell added two hits.
Tobin Eschief had a solid start, having pitched five innings, allowed two runs on three hits, struck out seven and walked two.
Temple split the doubleheader to complete their four-game series against Grayson College on Friday. The Vikings won game one, a 2-0 pitcher's duel, and the Leopards won game two, 9-5.
In game one, Kade Davis allowed two unearned runs on three hits, struck out three and walked two in seven innings.
Davis, Cantrell, Andrew Ermis, and Hunter Baros combined for Temple's four hits.
In game two, the Leopards rallied from 3-0 down with a run in the third inning, five runs in the fourth, and a run in the sixth to take a 7-3 lead. Temple tacked on two more runs in the seventh.
Simmons had three hits and two RBI. Davis, Cantrell, and Baros each had two hits, and Trae Allen added two RBI.
Gabe Gutierrez picked up the win in relief, as he dealt 4 1/3 innings, allowed two runs on six hits, walked four, and struck out one. Caleb Barry-Smith closed out the game with one hit allowed, one walk, and one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings.
Alvin broke a six-game slide Friday afternoon with a 7-1 win over San Jacinto College-North.
Caden Miller went 5-of-5 with three runs batted in, and Cade Baker and Jose Mancinas each chipped in two hits for the Dolphins.
Reagan James scattered six hits over six innings and struck out 10. Adam Wade pitched three innings in relief, allowed two hits, struck out three and walked one.
