Softball Season Preview

The Temple College softball team's season open is right around the corner and the Leopards will open up at home this year with back to back days of doubleheaders this Friday and Saturday on their home turf. The preseason coaches' poll for Region V North has the Leopards picked to finish first in the conference. (Click here to see the poll on the Region V website.) Sophomore returners Dalilah Barrera and AmyAnn Loeffler are expected to be key pieces of the Leopards success. Both Barrera and Loeffler were 2nd Team All-Conference selections last season. Sophomore transfer Tiare Lee is expected to make an immediate impact, especially to the Leopards offensive attack. Lee, originally from Las Vegas, hit over .300 last season and smashed 18 homeruns. Coach Zaleski has high expectations for all of the sophomores and expects all to have impactful roles with the success of this year's team. The Leopards have scheduled 28 home games with four of those being part of their tournament played at Lions Park in Temple. The season opens this Friday at home with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. against 2017 national tournament participant No. 7 Howard College.
