Women's Basketball 2018-2019 Season Preview

Women's Basketball 2018-2019 Season Preview

The Temple College women's basketball team is gearing up for their 2018-2019 season opener at home on November 2nd at 6:00 p.m. against Cedar Valley College. The Lady Leopards are looking to build off of their sophomore returners, Alena Johnston, Doriana Brown, and Makayla Gatewood. Johnston, who was awarded Honorable Mention All-Conference and was second on the team in scoring as a freshman, is expected to one of the leading scorers for the Lady Leopards. Brown and Gatewood, both were the leading rebounders as freshman and both shot 50% or better from the field last season and are expected to be dominant in the paint. Transfers Erin Brumley (San Jacinto College) and Treazure Mouton (Tyler Junior College) will give the team valuable experience at the guard position.

The incoming freshman class will be expected to step in and contribute immediately. Brooke Lopez (Hendrickson High School) and Tia Tolbert (Houston Christian) are expected to be scoring threats and are also defensive stoppers.
