TEMPLE, Texas – Women's Basketball was named 1 of 53 teams honored as an Academic Team of the Year after posting a 3.1 Team GPA and are the only team in the NTJCAC to receive this honor for the 2022-2023 season.

Along with the team's success, two individuals also stood out amongst the nations best. 

Kira Bass posted a 4.0 GPA as a Freshman earning herself a spot on the First Team All-Academic Team

Erika Suarez was named Third Team All-Academic Team as a Freshman for having a 3.60+ GPA

"I'm proud of this team for how hard they worked in the classroom this year. They are the epitome of what it means to be a student-athlete. Not only did they compete at a high level on the court but they were able to take care of their classwork in the same manner. In our program academics is a high priority and the work these women did is a direct reflection of that!"
